The Summer is coming along with all those music festivals. The first for us will be a repeat appearance at the Bearded Theory festival up in Derbyshire on May 15th.
We enjoyed the festival last year, despite nearly being blown off the stage, and the festival goers seemed to be having a good time as well. When we came off the stage we played a set at the "Something Else Tea Tent", part of which is immortalised on video. We're betting that the weather will be great this year which will make this unusual and friendly festival an even greater hit.
So, here's to the summer!

We went, we played, and they chose someone else... well done to We Aeronauts.
Most of us went down in a big mini-bus 1 taking with us our teenage fan-club (OK, OK, they were some of Eddies mates), picked up a hitch-hiker (who's cousin plays in one of the bands that got into the 2nd round voting), sang songs and didn't get lost.
Geatest dedication to the cause must go to Tori, who flew in from Cornwall (Newquay to be precise), not forgetting Gail who drove from the Forest of Dean and then battled through London to collect Tori from City Airport.
Our stand-in for Margaret (who was in Greece) looks like being a permanent addition to the band (hurrah!). She's called Helen Drury, plays the oboe, cor anglais and flute and she went above and beyond the expectations of anyone sensible in helping us out. Maybe that's why she'll be joining us!
Unforunately, Helen will be missing most of our gigs in August, because she'll be in Greece, but Margaret will be back with us :-).
What is it about musicians with wind instruments (blowy things as we call them) and Greece?.
It was an enjoyable night down in Camden, our favourite band of the evening seems to have been One String Loose, we all ended up tired but happy to have gone through the whole Greenpoll experience.
430 bands, 90,000 votes and we ended up in the top 6!
What's there not to like?
1. P.S. oops, left this out. Hero status also goes to Steve, who procured the minibus, drove it there and back, was the one who didn't get lost, and at the right point in the evening even played the bodhran.

The voting's over and we're going to Camden!
OK, the Camden bit's not that exciting, thousands of people go there every day. However, not many go there to play in the final round of the Green Man Festival's competition to find a band to open this years festival.
According to the Green Man Festival, over 20 thousand votes were cast in the second round of voting, so we must have got... erm... a lot of votes to end up in the top 6.
Another thankyou to all of those lovely people who voted for us xxx.

The Green Man Festival are choosing a band to open their event through two rounds of online voting, ending with a "battle of the bands" at the Camden Monarch in London.
Greenman Rising has gone through on round one; finishing in 4th place out of over 300 (ammendment: 430) bands and 70,000 votes cast.
Thankyou to everyone who voted for us in round one!
Now we must get into the top six of the twenty bands in round two. Voting finishes at midnight on July 12th.
